What Makes David Beckham SO Attractive? | David Beckham Style Analysis
Appointed 'ambassador of British fashion' in 2018, David Beckham's place as a style icon is undeniable. Men around the world aspire to replicate his image. But, what exactly makes him look so attractive?
In this David Beckham style analysis, I take a look at some of the key factors that contribute to his striking appearance; so that you can learn from one of the most stylish men in the world.
Before we focus on his clothing and grooming choices; I think it's important we mention David's genetic prowess. As with many celebrities, he is a naturally attractive person; who could look good in a bin bag. There are a couple of points of particular note here.
Firstly, his eyes are immediately striking. They are slim and angular; with a strong brow above them. This gives a masculine and strong look.
His nose is also very aesthetically pleasing; small in size overall, with an attractive shape. I would happily trade my giant honker for Beckham's.
As with many attractive celebrities, he also has a very well structured face. High cheek bones and a well proportioned head help him look like something straight off a billboard, at most angles.
David Beckham has developed a reputation for crafting great looks in recent years. One thing that many people forget, however, is how he got here. An important thing to remember is just how much Beckham experimented with his style, when he was younger; making every style mistake in the book along the way. From such experiences, he's really learned what looks best on him.
When it comes to jackets, particularly; Beckham regularly nails it. He has an eye for a stylish outer-garment and is regularly seen in everything from leather bombers, to denim jackets and camel coats. If you're short of ideas for such clothing; take a look at Beckham's Instagram for easy suggestions.
For jeans and trousers, you'll usually see him gravitate towards slimmer fits. Slim or skinny, due to his lean physique, tend to be his go-to choices. These allow him to look every inch of his six foot frame and form a great combination with his favoured chukka and Chelsea boots.
David Beckham is nothing short of a trend-setter, when it comes to hairstyles. He helped popularise the pompadour hairstyle trend of the 2010's. His hair certainly looks it's best like this, with short to medium length hairstyles.
However, as with his fashion, his hair hasn't always been so attractive. In fact, his past hairstyles have often been even more bizarre. Beckham has tried pretty much every hairstyle in the book, with everything from dreadlocks, to mohawks and buzz cuts.
From social media, it can seem like celebrities are perfect. The reality is, that's far from the truth. Let's take a look at some of David Beckham's appearance imperfections, and how he combats them, to stay looking great at all times.
The most notable one has to be his receding hairline. Beckham has what I describe as lower temple recession. The hairline on top of his head seems to be unaffected. However, the area above his ears is quite visibly receding. While this isn't particularly severe, or unexpected given his age, it could certainly detract from his appearance if left unchecked. This was most obvious a few years ago, when he attempted to rock a longer man bun hairstyle.
He has adjusted his hairstyle, in recent years, possibly in an attempt to reduce the visibility of the recessed areas. Initially transferring to the pompadour, followed by an even shorter hairstyle in 2018; as noticed at the royal wedding. The hair on the sides is now so short, the recessed areas are indistinguishable.
Another of Beckham's most revered features is his facial hair. However, his beard is surprisingly patchy and thin. It can look scraggly and un-kept when he attempts to grow it out. For many public events, he falls back on his best aesthetic option, which is stubble. Shorter beards tend to hide the flaws of thin beards, and this is the case even for David Beckham. Such a look further enhances his cheek bone exposure and, consequently, his attractiveness.
